Points Herald
THE COMMERCIAL REGISTER

How this site makes money.

Running these tables costs money, and pretending otherwise is how comparison media earns distrust. Here is the model, in full.

Links that pay

Some outbound links are affiliate links. Follow one, buy a subscription or book a service, and the partner pays this site a commission at no cost to you. Today that can include travel tools and services relevant to the page you are reading — award-search software, eSIMs, flight and hotel services — and, where a partnership exists, card issuer links. Every such link carries a rel="sponsored" attribute and sits beside a plainly worded disclosure in the page’s mono register.

Links that do not pay

Where no partnership exists, product links go to the provider untracked, and the wording beside them says exactly that. An untracked card link and a tracked one render from the same data and the same template — the difference is a database flag, never a different number.

What never changes

Ranking on this site is arithmetic: published rates applied to stated spending patterns. No partner can buy a position, alter a figure, or move themselves up a table, because the tables are computed from source data that renders with its collection date attached. If a commercial relationship ever conflicted with a number, the number would win and the relationship would end.

What this site is not

Points Herald publishes factual information and mathematics. It does not hold an Australian Credit Licence, does not provide credit assistance, and does not make recommendations about applying for, holding or cancelling any credit product. Product decisions belong with you and, where you want advice that considers your circumstances, with a licensed professional.
